The goal of Zen is the perfection of character.

JULY 4th - more than just another day for a mattress sale

Exceptional men, women and children fought and died for this day, this idea of America.  Take a moment to read the miracle they declared into being and for which we the people are a promise to our world every day.  Visit our National Treasure at http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/declaration_transcript.html
Have a wonderful 4th celebrating with your families and friends!

“The flames kindled on the Fourth of July, 1776, have spread over too much of the globe to be extinguished by the feeble engines of despotism; on the contrary, they will consume these engines and all who work them.”
Thomas Jefferson to John Adams, 1821.

Consistency or intensity?
Thursday, June 11, 2009 | Posted by Andy Petranek, Zen student owner Crossfit LA.
“In the quest for elite fitness, consistency always wins out over intensity.” I came up with this - and I paraphrase it in every “Welcome Aboard” postcard I write to a new student, because in my experience, it is consistency that matters… consistency creates habits. And habits change the world. If you make consistently poor choices, your life will reflect it - just as it will with excellent choices. Consider this quote from Aristotle, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” I came across this 7 Habits of Highly Effective Athletes yesterday. What are your 7? Is excellence one of them?
